Rabbit Cafe in Osaka’s Nakazakinishi neighborhood offers a quietly charming break from the usual bustle of Umeda and Nakazakicho. This cafe is built inside a converted old house, giving it an intimate, homey vibe shaped by its tatami seating and whimsical rabbit-themed decor. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down, sink into a low seat, and rest your feet after wandering the nearby streets.

The shop is clearly designed with rabbit lovers in mind: from the subtle touches like a rabbit-shaped spoon and Peter Rabbit cups to the owner’s occasional bunny mask, the theme is consistently playfully woven through the experience. While the cafe houses the owner's actual pet rabbit, it stays in a separate section, keeping the dining area calm and allergen-friendly. This balance makes it appealing not only to animal fans but also to those who simply want a quiet spot to recharge without the overwhelming presence of animals.

Visitors tend to appreciate the gentle hospitality of the owner and the modest but satisfying menu, which highlights items like scones, ginger lemon tea, and berry parfaits alongside a selection of coffee and even beer. Drinks and dishes come with small decorative flourishes that complement the cozy feel without feeling gimmicky. The cafe’s calm atmosphere and English-friendliness make it accessible for travelers seeking a laid-back afternoon pause.

Ideal for a mid-morning or late afternoon visit, Rabbit Cafe is a nice stop for anyone looking to unwind away from the main commercial streets. Locals and visitors alike use it as a quiet spot to catch up on reading or simply enjoy a well-made coffee in a setting that doesn’t push for speed or crowds. The tatami seating encourages lingering, making it less a quick grab and more a slow, restorative break embedded in a uniquely local neighborhood setting.

If you like rabbits/bunnies you have to visit this place. It's a bunny theme cafe. Books, decor, (owner's rabbit is in a seperate area) and even the toilet :D Owner wears a bunny mask too. It is a great place to relax, have coffee and something light. If you are tired from walking around Umeda and Nakazakicho, this is the right place to recharge. Also, it is tatami seats, so you can relax and stretch those tired legs. No English menu but you can just point to the pictures!

A rabbit themed cafe inside a repurposed old house. Pet rabbit(s) in a separate room from eating was super chill. The decorated food and drinks are adorable. A cute place to visit.

Cosy little place, decent size menu with both coffees, beer, and sweet drinks. English friendly. Had a coffee which was very nice, and came in a Peter rabbit cup with rabbit spoon etc. All very cute. No bunny to day I came, owner said its "on holiday". It appears to be the owners pet, so it was understandable.
